Fujitsu laptops hard drives regularly fail due to a firmware leak from one of the controller card chips. Common symptoms of this failure include the hard drive no longer being recognized by the laptop’s BIOS or, when it is recognized by the BIOS, the model number is displayed incorrectly or appears as a set of symbols. When these symptoms are displayed the hard drive will become inaccessible but still appear to physically function (i.e. it will power-up with no strange sounds).
In the last twelve months, Fields Data Recovery had successfully recovered over 1200 Fujitsu laptop hard drives. Many of these hard drives were received from other data recovery companies throughout the developed world.

"Our server had been working without any problems for years, we thought we had an adequate back up policy. As is always the case with these things we found out we didn't too late. Fields had us up and running very quickly especially considering we sent the server to a higher priced lab first." - Jeff Long - Ink Express, Febuary 2009 [ Read More ]
