Quantum Data Recovery

All Quantum hard drives are very similar in appearance. However, the quantum hard drives have two know problems.

The Quantum Fireball 'AS' often develops a mechanical fault which can be diagnosed by a regular knocking or ticking sound. These Quantum hard drives are notoriously difficult to recover from once they've developed extreme mechanical failures. However, the technicians at Fields Data Recovery have developed a number of in-house techniques based upon the technology used by the manufacturer, resulting in a higher than average success rate on these hard drives.

One of the most important facts for a successful recovery is to prevent accessing or powering the hard drive as soon as it begins to malfunction.

When this failure occurs the hard drive will no longer be recognized by the system's BIOS or, on rare occasions, the hard drive will acquire incorrectly.

The Quantum Fireball LCT regularly fails as a result of an electrical fault. This is diagnosed by one of the chips on the PCB appearing burnt out or showing visible signs of damage. The specific chip that often fails controls the spindle motor and the voice coil motor that moves the hard drive's head stack.

Fields Data Recovery have an extensive inventory of hard drives allowing their engineers to overcome this problem and generally return the data to the client within the shortest possible time period.

"Our server had been working without any problems for years, we thought we had an adequate back up policy. As is always the case with these things we found out we didn't too late. Fields had us up and running very quickly especially considering we sent the server to a higher priced lab first." - Jeff Long - Ink Express, Febuary 2009 [ Read More ]
